Media Rhetoric
I think that the most effective media for rhetoric was the video. In the video you are able to display more emotion, than any of the other forms. It is more clear to the viewer as to the point you are trying to make and the emotions that are being conveyed. With the Postsecret, there are many different ways that a viewer can interpret what is meant, but the video made it a little more clear and obvious. If I had to do this project again, I would still choose to do a video. i liked making the video, even though it was complicated at times. I thought that it made it much easier to write about and explain our choices. I also thought that it would have taken a lot more thought and creativity to do one of the other two, and that is something that I am not good with. The only thing that I didn't like about the video, was that it took a long time to plan everything out, with the script and the filming.

This blog promt can be argued different ways, but after reading your input I can agree. The video option displays actual, real-life emotions, and I feel the reader can relate more towards this than to pictures and words. I didnt make a video because it seemed like to much work, but now that I think about it, it seemed like it would have enhanced my secret better than my postcard.
ReplyDeleteyes i agree that it the video was very personable for us in class. but wouldnt you say that the movie was a form of pathos? I agree videos are very good. I rather watch a video then read something, because often times things are said to you. I love working with imovie, but you are so right, it takes so long to do, it takes hours for a few mins to be finished.
ReplyDeleteyou have a point that with post secret you get a lot of different views, but i think a lot of people enjoying interpreting things themselves and almost have the moral or whatever a mystery to them...emotions is a good way to use the rhetorical triangle...my parents always say that i react through my emotions and i think a lot of others also do this so its a very strong way to do it
ReplyDeletethats very true. post secret leaves a lot of interpretation up to the viewer while the video is more in your face and to the point. i think both forms are good ways of getting a point across depending on what it is you want the reader to know and how you want them to interpret it.
